Witches and Warlocks Paddle at Killarney Lake

Witches and Warlocks Paddle at Killarney Lake

Over 50 witches and warlocks hit the foggy waters of Killarney Lake for a hauntingly fun paddle to celebrate Halloween!

Our second annual Witches and Warlocks Paddle at Killarney Lake in Fredericton was a frightfully good time! Over 50 costumed paddlers hit the water this year who were joined by even more spectators who came out to watch the spooky spectacle from the beach.

The morning started with a thick fog drifting across the lake, setting the perfect eerie scene. As the sun began to break through, a fleet of witches, warlocks, and other haunting figures took to the water. Paddlers toured the lake for nearly an hour, forming circles, clusters, and ghoulish formations that made the whole scene look straight out of a Halloween movie.

A big shoutout to Canoe Kayak NB, who were on site keeping everyone safe as the magic (and mischief) unfolded. Once the paddling wrapped up, everyone gathered back on shore for Halloween candy and hot chocolate. With prizes for best costumes courtesy of Sea to Summit.

We couldn’t have asked for a better turnout or atmosphere. Thank you to everyone who joined us, whether you paddled, cheered from the beach, or just came out to enjoy the show. We’re already looking forward to next year’s spooky splash at Killarney!
